Mother Against Drunk Driving was Driving Drunk

MADD President charged with DUIDebra Oberlin – the former president of the Gainesville, Florida MADD (Mothers against drunk driving) was arrested with driving drunk.  The 48 year old Oberlin registered a .234 and .239 on breath alcohol tests when Florida’s legal limit for driving is .08 – three times the legal limit.

She was spotted by police on February 18th a little after 1 am.  Her car was swerving and crossing lanes and when she was pulled over and got out of her car, the smell of alcohol and her blood shot eyes gave it away.

Gainesville’s MADD chapter existed for several years in the 1990s before closing in 1996 because of lack of financial support (and more importantly – lack of leadership).

Chris Chelios – Celebrity Mug Shots

Chris-CheliosChris Chelios, the former NHL star of the Chicago Blackhawks, future Hall of Fame inductee and current member of the AHL Chicago Wolves was arrested for drunk driving on December 28.  The 47 year old Chelios was driving his pickup truck in Westmont, Illinois when police pulled him over shortly after 4:00 am for speeding and an improper lane change.  He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and had this lovely mug shot taken of him.

Chris Chelios – the hockey player that just won’t retire, apparently is the hockey player that doesn’t know when to say when.  Do they have sport celebrity mugshot trading cards?.  “Topps 2010 NHL Trading Cards – Mugshot of one superstar sports celebrity in every pack!”

Paris Hilton (the attention loving socialite & hotel heiress and best known for her reality showThe Simple Life“) was arrested in September of 2006 for drunk driving.  She said that she was “hungry and rushing to get a burger” when she was stopped (she needed something to soak-up all that alcohol in her stomach).  In November of 2006, her license was suspended and she was punished with 36 months’ probation with $1500 in fines (now how could she possibly afford that?).

In January of 2007, she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and then in February, she was stopped by police for driving 70 mph in a 35 mph zone (and didn’t have her headlights on after dark – “That’s hot!”).
